Substance Use/Addiction
Substance use disorders and addictions do not discriminate—they affect people of all ages, races, spiritual backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses. Substance use disorders and addictions are a disease, not a choice. Addiction goes beneath choice and decisions—it goes into genes, brain chemistry, and adapted coping skills. Therapy can address both substance use and addiction, as well as the needs of the friends and family of the affected person.
